Lower Rhytidectomy (Neck Lift Surgery)
How is a Neck Lift performed?
The purpose of a neck lift surgery is to get a more youthful neck with regained contours. Dr. Soler performs a neck lift under general anesthesia at a surgery center. The procedure requires an incision to be made under the chin for removal of fat, after which the muscles are tightened and some skin may be removed as well. The patient leaves the hospital with their neck and chin wrapped in dressing or in an elastic sling around the neck. Any initial discomfort after surgery can be easily controlled with oral medication post surgery that is prescribed by Dr. Soler. The bruising and swelling takes about 2 weeks to disappear entirely and the desired result of the surgery is visible after a month or two. Many patients who undergo neck lift surgery may also get other surgeries performed in conjunction with it, such as mid facelift, rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery to name a few.
