Botox® in Tampa, FL

Botox® Cosmetic or simple Botox® is a non surgical way of treating wrinkles on the face like the ones between your eyes or the forehead and the ‘crow’s feet’. Botulinum Toxin or Botox® weakens the muscles of the facial expression. Once this happens, the pull of that muscle is relaxed and this flattens the overlying skin. Most of the other local treatments for an aging face work by filling in the depression or wrinkle like Collagen, Silicone, Alloderm or Softform. For the upper third of the face, however, these fillers are not as effective as Botox®. When the muscles are physiologically weakened, the wrinkles lessen naturally. Dr. Soler serves patients in Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg. He is involved in every procedure and personally performs the Botox® injections.

How is Botox® performed?

Botox® is freshly prepared on the day of the injection. Once this is injected into the small muscles at the corners of the eyes, in the forehead or in between the brows;, it paralyzes those specific muscles and improves the appearance of the wrinkles. The muscle paralysis is temporary and you need to be re-injected within a period of 3 to 10 months. Alternative treatments would include an injection of free fat or collagen or a brow lift for surgical excision of muscles. It is very rare to see a complication with Botox but it could include paralysis of a nearby muscle resulting in loss of function, such as a drooping eyelid, but this is a temporary loss.

Any risks or individual suitability of Botox® must be discussed directly with your physician during consultation. Even though all surgical procedures carry a slight degree of risk, no major complications are foreseen during Botox®. Any minor complications that may arise do not hamper the end result of your surgery.

What can I expect from a Botox® treatment?

The results of Botox® vary, depending on your facial skin and the results you are hoping to achieve. Dr. Soler will use a thin needle to inject tiny amounts of Botox® into the area to be treated. There are many factors that determine how many injections are needed and how often these treatments should be repeated. Dr. Soler will discuss this with you during your appointment. Since Botox® is a temporary anti-aging solution, it is recommended you receive Botox® every three to four months. Botox® injections are done in our office and preformed by Dr. Soler himself.

How long is recovery from Botox®?

Unlike surgery, most medical spa treatments do not have any downtime making these anti-aging options extremely popular and widely used by countless men and women. After your botox tampa treatment you can return to your normal daily activities.
