Facelift in Tampa, Florida

It is not unnatural to feel a lack of skin elasticity or muscle tone of the neck and face. A facelift can help you retain more youthful contours of the face. If there are any jowls or deep creases between the corners of the mouth and the base of the nose, or you have neck and face wrinkles; a rhytidectomy (face lift) may help. If you feel like you have lost the youthful contours of the chin and neck or feel unhappy with a tired facial appearance, then you should schedule a consultation in our Tampa office. A facelift will help you achieve the desired youthful and toned look you desire. Dr. Soler offers facelift surgeries for patients in Tampa Bay, Clearwater, St. Petersburg and the surrounding areas.

How is a facelift performed?

A facelift provides the patient with a more youthful and rested look to the neck and the face. The recovery from a facelift depends on the looseness of the skin and the quality of the underlying skin. Every patient is different and their skin reacts differently during the healing phase. Dr. Soler performs a facelift under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. You will leave the hospital with your neck and face wrapped in dressings, which are usually removed the next day. Any initial discomfort is very minimal and easily controlled with oral medication Dr. Soler will prescribe to you. Within 14 days from the surgery, the sutures are removed and the swelling or bruising diminishes within 10 to 20 days. The results of your facelift are evident within four to six weeks of the procedure and will continue to improve over the following months.

Dr. Soler will tailor every surgery to meet your overall needs. He may use and recommend personalized skincare products before and after facelift surgery. These skincare products and routines are customized to you and are chosen based on age, results and your healing process.

What is a mini facelift?

A mini facelift, also known as a “quick lift,” is a rejuvenating facial procedure for the cheeks and jowls at the jawline. A mini face lift is known as a quick lift because of the shortened surgery time and the speedy recovery period. There is minimal swelling and very few side-effects. The mini facelift procedure can be performed under local anesthesia or intravenous sedation and you can typically return home the same day. The procedure itself may only last one to two hours and the recovery time can be a quick as seven to fourteen days. The mini face lift focuses on lifting the central tissue collapse in the face around the cheeks and jowls or jaw line. If you find you are developing marionette lines, which are wrinkles around the corners of the mouth or sagging skin around your cheeks and jaw, a mini facelift may be right for you.

Is a face lift covered by insurance?

It is important to note that facelift surgery is categorized as a cosmetic procedure and is not covered under insurance, so you are responsible for payments. Any associated risks or suitability of the procedure need to be discussed with Dr. Soler during the one on one consultation at his Tampa office. As always, there are risks associated with any surgery, but it’s rare to encounter any major complications during a facelift. During your consultation, Dr. Soler will go over your personal goals for your facelift and any associated risks involved.
