Sculptra® is one of the longest lasting dermal fillers on the market. This filler is unique, and unlike the liquid or gel substances of other fillers, Sculptra® restores the underlying structure of the skin by stimulating collagen growth within your body. As you age, the collagen in your skin decreases. This decrease leads to skin laxity, wrinkles, facial folds and creases, Sculptra® works with your body to revitalize your collagen and give you a more youthful appearance. Dr. Soler serves patients in Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg, is involved in every procedure and personally performs the Sculptra® injections.
Where does Sculptra® work?
Sculptra® is used to treat wrinkles and facial folds between the nose and the mouth. Sculptra® treats:
- Smile lines – lines between the mouth and nose (nasolabial folds).
- Marionette lines – lines framing your mouth (laugh lines).
- Chin wrinkles – wrinkles or fine lines on or around your chin.
How does Sculptra® work?
This filler can be used to enhance sunken cheeks and smooth wrinkles around the mouth, nose and chin. What makes Sculptra® unique is that is it made of Poly-L-Lactic Acid which is the synthetic form of the lactic acid your body produces naturally. Sculptra® is a bio-activator and extremely powerful collagen stimulator, which is quite different from most other dermal fillers. This products works with your body to restore lost collagen. Consequently, your results will get better over time as the product adds volume to your facial tissue gradually. Since the product triggers your body to build its own collagen, results are not immediate and can take anywhere from four to six months to fully appear. This dermal filler can also last up to two years, making it one of the longest lasting fillers on the market.

How long is recovery from Sculptra®?
Sculptra® injections require no downtime or limitation to your activities or schedule. After your Sculptra® treatment you can return to your normal daily activities. It is important to note that both recovery and results will vary from person to person. Sculptra® may cause some swelling, but it is usually gone within a week or two and even quicker for some patients. The swelling depends on how the filler is injected, and how much is used. Bruising may occur but this varies from patient to patient as well. If bruising does occur it may only last five to seven days. It is always recommended to have injectable fillers done by a board-certified plastic surgeon, to ensure the best results possible and lessen any potential side effects. Dr. Soler chooses to perform all dermal filler and injectable procedures personally, to optimize the treatment and recovery for his patients.
