A Surgeon You Can Trust
Mastopexy is a surgical procedure that requires precision and extensive knowledge. We pride ourselves on offering more than just a surgical procedure. We aim to enhance the overall appearance of your breasts, give you a youthful glow, and increase your confidence. We will be with you through your cosmetic journey. You can direct all your questions to us, and we will answer them accurately and give you peace of mind when having your breast lift procedure.
What Does a Breast Lift Do?
A breast lift aims to reshape and recontour your breasts by arranging the underlying tissue and removing excess skin. The results that you achieve with breast lift surgery are long-lasting.
What to Expect From a Breast Lift Recovery
After your breast lift procedure, you will be covered with gauze and fitted with a surgical bra. You will have small drainage tubes in your breasts to drain excess fluid and blood. Your breasts will be swollen for about two weeks after your procedure. You will be given sufficient pain medication.
Avoid actions that put pressure on your breasts, such as bending or heavy lifting. Sleep on your back or your side to keep pressure off your breasts. We recommend you avoid sexual activity for at least two weeks, and strenuous daily tasks should be limited.
Your drainage tubes will be removed after a few days, and your bandages may be changed. Over the next few weeks, you will have stitches removed. Some stitches will dissolve on their own. Your surgical support bra should be worn around the clock for at least four days.
Thereafter, you will wear a softer support bra for about four weeks. Silicone gel or tape may be used on your incisions to promote healing. We recommend that you limit sun-exposure to your breasts during the healing period. Afterward, use a protective cover on your incisions when exposed to the sun.
The Results
The results you achieve with a mastopexy will be visible immediately and will improve over the next few months. You may notice that your bra size is slightly smaller. This is expected. It is due to the skin on your breasts becoming firmer and rounder. The results are not permanent because your skin will naturally become less elastic as you age. However, the result can be enjoyed for many years.
How To Recover From a Breast Lift
The duration of your recovery will vary. Here are a few things you can do to make your recovery as comfortable as possible while maximizing results:
Taking Good Care of Your Skin
The elasticity of your skin is due to your genetics. However, there are ways to manipulate it. We recommend you avoid extensive sun exposure to retain your skin’s elasticity.
Avoid Weight Fluctuation
Constant weight loss and weight gain are not good for any cosmetic procedure. If you maintain a healthy lifestyle which includes regular exercise and a balanced diet you can prolong the results of your breast lift.
Wear Proper Support
You may not be keen on wearing a bra. However, a bra offers much-needed support to your breasts and will extend the results you achieve with breast lift surgery. Wearing a bra that is not the correct size will also contribute to sagging breasts. While exercising, a good quality sports bra should be worn.
Types of Breast Lifts
With so many types of breast lift procedures, you may wonder which one is best suited for you. Each one targets different aspects of your breasts and uses different incisions to achieve results. Your body type, the amount of tissue present on your breasts, and your desired goals will determine the type of breast lift surgery best for you. This will be discussed during your initial consultation before you schedule your procedure.
Breast Lift with Implants
Having implants with a breast lift targets two concerns. The size and position of your breasts. It is ideal if you want firmer, rounder, and larger breasts in one procedure. This procedure can also correct asymmetrical breasts.
No-Implant Breast Lift
A breast lift with no implants offers an increase in volume, reshapes the breasts, moves your areola upwards, and gets rid of unwanted excess skin.
Vampire Breast Lift
You may not be ready to commit to surgery. If this is the case, there is a non-surgical breast lift treatment option. This will require minimal downtime and offer long-lasting results. A vampire breast lift uses platelet-rich plasma to tighten the tissue around your breasts and reposition them. This procedure is also known as a PRP breast lift.
Breast Reduction and Lift
A reduction and lift include reducing the size of your breasts and lifting them into a better position.
Breast Augmentation
A breast augmentation procedure targets the size, position, and symmetry of your breasts while restoring lost volume.
